Baked Potato with Sausage Sauerkraut

A German twist on the baked potato.

Cooking PotMETHOD

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C / 425°C / Gas Mark 7.

  2. Prick potatoes with a fork and place directly onto the oven shelf and bake for 60-80 minutes. A metal skewer inserted lengthways into each potato will speed up cooking.

  3. For extra crunchy skins, rub oil over the skin and add a dusting of crushed rock salt or cooking salt.

Filling:

  1. Sauté onions for 10-15 minutes and add sliced smoked sausage or frankfurter.

  2. Cook for another 10 minutes until sausage is heated through.

  3. Pile into the baked potato with green salad.

4 Large Original Rooster Potatoes
1/2 onion (chopped)
2 smoked sausages or frankfurters
Green salad
