We currently have roles available within our Chill Intake Department. Successful candidates will have a Counterbalance Forklift Licence. Experience working within a similar environment will add weight to your application, but don’t let that put you off.

Job Description

The Intake Operator is responsible for loading and un-loading of all raw and finished goods using equipment that they have been trained on (Forklifts/Pallet trucks), Disposing of waste in a safe and tidy manner segregating it to correct bins/skips, Accurate counting of all stocks being stored within the Intake department, Report immediately incidents and situations potentially hazardous to the health & safety of personnel and equipment that come to your notice, Booking in all delivery’s both manually and using the company’s ERP systems and ensuring correct segregation labels are being applied such as Allergens and Vegan and any other duties as directed by management.

  • Loading/un-loading all vehicles in a safe manner following all company procedures and policy’s.
  • Disposal of all waste to correct locations as per company’s environmental guidelines.
  • Accurate stocks counts of all raw/finished goods which have to be updated on the generic low care stock sheet and sent to relevant departments.
  • Detailed and accurate load plans to be drafted and communicated for all goods being stored to be frozen.
  • Booking in all delivery’s, recording Intake codes and applying correct food segregation labels.
  • Booking in all delivery’s onto the company’s ERP systems.
  • Safe storage of all raw materials and finished goods with good segregation and signage at all times.
  • Checking all delivery’s for damage reporting issues immediately to QA’s/TL/PM’s.
  • Safe transportation and stacking of all materials taking care to prevent damage or loss to the business.
  • High standard of health and safety demonstrated at all times following all training, policies and procedures in place.
  • Accurate and well-presented paperwork completion executed at all times.
  • Good food safety awareness to comply with GMP/BRC inclusive of good housekeeping practices.
  • Weighing of all raw materials with details highlighted on every pa.

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Shift Pattern & Rate of Pay:

  • Back-Shift: Mon to Fri 16.30 to 01.00 . £10.75 per hour + 0.50p shift allowance.

Skills & Experience

  • Ability to record accurate load information
  • Ability to count accurately
  • Ability to work independently and carry out tasks with little supervision
  • Attention to detail
  • Forklift/Counterbalance Licence, Pallet Truck Licence
  • Experience of forklift truck / pallet truck driving in fast moving environment
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills
  • Good Communication Skills

All applicants should hold a valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence and have previous working experience operating them.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, keen to learn, be a good team player, have an ability to pay attention to detail, and have a strong sense of good customer service. The role will involve attaining Company production targets to satisfy customer demands, very often to tight schedules.
