Job Description

The Load Checkers role is to carry out necessary checks and follow instructions to ensure that the correct load is loaded as per the customer or company’s requirements and as outlined within standard operating procedures.

Our Load Checker is responsible for:

  • Responsible for accurate checking of all finished goods before being loaded onto a vehicle and accurate filing-out of all paperwork related to the load being checked.
  • Responsible for passing on any information that may benefit the company in reducing loading times, enhance the quality of customer’s products and improve the working environment.
  • Responsible for accurate checking of all finished goods before being loaded onto a vehicle and accurate filling-out of paperwork connected to these loads.
  • Ensure good housekeeping is maintained at all times.
  • Ensure Health and Safety procedures are strictly adhered to.
  • Report immediately to a manager Incidents and situations potentially hazardous to the health and safety of personnel and equipment that come to your notice.
  • Responsible for ensuring all materials used, are looked after and stored away in the correct place after use i.e. Clipboards, pens, blank load plans etc.
  • Any other duties as requested to service customer requirements.

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Shift Pattern & Rate of Pay (Options Available):

  • Back-Shift: Sunday 9-5, Monday – Thursday 5pm – 1 am and every 3rd Sat (£9.90 per hour + 0.50p shift allowance).
  • Weekend Shift: Friday/Saturday/Sunday with flexibility required regarding shift patterns (£9.90 per hour).

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Attention to detail.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Ability to record accurate load information.
  • Ability to count accurately.
  • Ability to work independently and carry out tasks with little supervision.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and basic computer skills.
  • Experience preferred however full training will be provided.
