Albert Bartlett is the UK’s leading grower and packer of potatoes, a family business established in 1948. The company supplies over 500,000 tonnes of potatoes into the UK market each year working closely with major retailers to provide a range of premium quality products. The company is involved in all stages of the potato supply, from seed and field selection, growing, harvesting, packing and marketing. Albert Bartlett potatoes are grown across the UK from Cornwall to the north of Scotland and on the Island of Jersey and operates three industry leading packing factories in Airdrie in Scotland, Boston in Lincolnshire and on Jersey. We also produce value add potato products in our Chilled facilities in Airdrie and Westwick.


The Social Media Graduate (SMG) reports to the Brand manager and is responsible for the implementation and analysis of Albert Bartlett, Scotty Brand and The Capocci Man’s social media activity. This will include management of Facebook and Instagram (primarily) and Tik Tok and Twitter (secondarily) for all three brands and potentially some NPD brands, plus support on consumer relationship management, e-commerce, internal newsletter and web site up-dates. The job holder will also be expected to contribute to the over-arching strategy behind the brands’ social media, working with the rest of the team.


  • External agency produces most creative work following the SMG’s briefing and direction.
  • Some graphics editing or creation of simple graphics and videos will be required from the SMG, particularly for the smaller brands in the portfolio, such as The Capocci Man.
  • Selection and management of influencer collaborations on Scotty Brand.
  • Monitor and react to questions, comments and other engagements on all social channels.
  • Build engagement on social, whilst ensuring all relevant brand messages and tone of voice are observed.
  • Work closely with other members of the marketing team to amplify existing activity and to suggest activity which will resonate on social media.
  • Work closely with creative and PR agencies, encouraging cross-fertilisation of ideas.
  • Measure activity using appropriate analytics and benchmarking against competitors.
  • Remain up to date with new social media developments and ensure necessary changes are implemented and new opportunities appropriate to our brands are exploited.
  • Produce e-newsletters for despatch to brand databases approximately on a quarterly basis.
  • Compile and edit the monthly staff e-newsletter.
  • Liaise with production and ops teams on the day-to-day management of the web shop, including handling consumer correspondence and comments.
  • Reporting to senior management on activity as appropriate, including recommendations for activity based on analysis of performance.

  • Bachelors Degree in Marketing or Related Field.
