Hamburger Loaded Fries

Who knew a burger could ever get better? Treat yourself to this mighty feast!

Cooking PotMETHOD

  1. Preheat an oven at 190°. Slice the potatoes into preferred chip shape and add to a saucepan then top with cold water and add plenty of salt. Put on the hob on a high heat and bring the potatoes to the boil. Once boiled, cook for a further 2 minutes then drain immediately and allow to sit for 5 minutes.

  2. Add the chips to a lined baking sheet and drizzle heavily in olive oil and some salt, then add to the oven for 20 minutes.

  3. While the chips are cooking, add all your burger ingredients to a bowl and mix well together ensuring it’s well seasoned. Once combined, add the mixture to a suitably sized roasting dish.

  4. After 20 minutes, remove the chips from the oven and mix well. Put both the chips and the burger dish to the oven to cook for a further 20 minutes.

  5. While they are cooking, take your burger sauce ingredients and mix thoroughly in a bowl.

  6. For the cheese sauce, add the butter to a saucepan, heating on a medium heat until melted (you should see bubbles start to form), then add the flour, whisking constantly until a paste forms. Gradually add the milk continuously whisking until a smooth sauce forms then gradually add the cheese slices until melted and the sauce has thickened then remove from the heat (you can add a drop of milk if the sauce becomes too thick).

  7. After 20 minutes, remove the mince and chips from the oven. Roughly break up the mince into chunks and scatter over the chips then add the diced onion.

  8. Dice up the buns, then on a medium-high heat add a table spoon of butter to a frying pan. When the butter is sizzling, add the diced buns to the pan and toss through.
until they are crispy on the outside, but soft in the middle.

  9. Add the diced buns to your dish and then drizzle over your burger and cheese sauces Finally, add your lettuce and pickles (if you like them) and Enjoy!
